Temecula Prep and Nuview Bridge are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but likely not for long. The Patriots will take on the Knights at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Temecula Prep knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Nuview Bridge likes a good challenge.
Temecula Prep is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 25-0 margin over California Military Institute on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Rough Riders: they've now won eight in a row.
Ethan Fisher and Jacob Dulaney made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Fisher pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Dulaney pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Fisher has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. At bat, Fisher went 1-for-3 with three runs and one RBI, while Dulaney got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs. Those three runs gave Fisher a new career-high.

In other batting news, Temecula Prep got a massive performance out of Braden Litt, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. That's the most hits Litt has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Nikolaz Gonzalez, who went 2-for-3 with four runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
Temecula Prep kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matches.
San Jacinto Valley Academy hit Nuview Bridge with a five-run fourth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Knights came up short against the Wolves, falling 12-4.
Nuview Bridge saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Rivera, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Temecula Prep pushed their record up to 18-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Nuview Bridge, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Temecula Prep has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Nuview Bridge struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Temecula Prep skirted past Nuview Bridge 7-5 in their previous meeting back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
