Basketball Game Preview: Clovis Cougars vs. Central Grizzlies

Clovis is on a five-game streak of home losses, Central a six-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Tuesday. The Clovis Cougars will host the Central Grizzlies at 6:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Clovis lost 82-62 to Clovis West on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 438th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 104th).

Meanwhile, Central fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Clovis East on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 66-65 to the Timberwolves.

Central's loss dropped their record down to 16-12. As for Clovis, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-19.

Clovis lost to Central at home by a decisive 71-56 margin when the teams last played back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Central's Na'Jae Stevenson, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds.
