Basketball Recap: Eastside Gets Big Victory over Higher-Ranked Abingdon

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Eastside walked away with it. They walked away with an 11-2 win over the Abingdon Falcons on Friday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Spartans' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 165th, while the Falcons are ranked 40th).

Eastside now has a winning record of 14-13. As for Abingdon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 19-11.

As of now, neither Eastside nor Abingdon have any future games scheduled.
