Baseball Recap: Sequoyah Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against South-Doyle, Sequoyah was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Maryville Christian Eagles 5-4. The Chiefs haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

James Lynn was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Eli Byrum, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Sequoyah's win bumped their record up to 8-14. As for Maryville Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.

Looking ahead, Sequoyah will head out to take on Alcoa at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Chiefs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tornadoes have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season. As for Maryville Christian, they will welcome Carter at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
