Recap: Horizon Huskies vs. Williams Field Black Hawks

The Horizon Huskies suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They were dealt a 53-17 defeat at the hands of Williams Field. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Horizon has scored all season.

When it comes to explaining why Horizon lost, one person who can't be blamed is Mia Brown. Despite the final result, she scored six points along with three steals.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Horizon struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Williams Field racked up 12 assists.

Williams Field's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sophia Carnes, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Carnes pulled down eight or more rebounds. Latoya Brooks was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds.

Horizon's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-7. As for Williams Field, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.

Horizon will be playing at home against Desert Edge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Desert Edge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Thursday. As for Williams Field, they will head out on the road to face off against Casteel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Casteel is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
