Softball Game Preview: Gardena Panthers vs. Carson Colts

Gardena is 0-10 against Carson since May of 2021 but things could change on Monday. The Panthers will face off against the Colts at 3:15 p.m. Gardena has given up an average of 21.4 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Gardena fell victim to Rancho Dominguez and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Lobos, falling 15-0.

Meanwhile, Carson entered their game against Long Beach Poly on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Colts fell just short of the Jackrabbits by a score of 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Colts have suffered since March 19th.

Carson got a massive performance out of Ashannalee Titialii, who went 4-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Titialii is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Atiana Rodriguez, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

The defeat was their first at home, dropping their record down to 13-7. As for Gardena, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.

Gardena might still be hurting after the 24-0 defeat they got from Carson in their previous matchup on April 9th. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
