Basketball Recap: Welch Snags Sixth Victory in Last Eight Games

Welch hadn't done well against Quapaw recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Welch Wildcats walked away with a 49-38 victory over the Quapaw Wildcats. This was a revenge game for Welch: when they faced off against Quapaw back in December of 2024, they had to take a 38-35 defeat.

Welch has also been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for Quapaw, they dropped their record down to 3-10 with the loss, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Welch has already played their next matchup, a 51-40 win against Bluejacket on the 1st. As for Quapaw, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Afton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
