Baseball Recap: Bethel-Tate Drops Highest Score of Season Against Fayetteville-Perry

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Bethel-Tate ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Fayetteville-Perry Rockets 10-9. The Tigers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Brayden Seibert and Carter Moss made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Seibert pitched 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Moss pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances. At the plate, Seibert went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI, while Moss went a perfect 5-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Bethel-Tate is 2-1 when Moss posts two or more runs, but 1-10 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Simon Houser, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Landen Schultian, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Bethel-Tate always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Bethel-Tate's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-11. As for Fayetteville-Perry, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-11.
