Ichabod Crane proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 12) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over the Schalmont Sabres. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Riders have posted since April 16th.

Torri Cutler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up 11 Ks.

On the hitting side, Emma Holmberg was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.
