Basketball Game Preview: Escondido Cougars vs. Ramona Bulldogs

The Escondido Cougars will venture away from home to take on the Ramona Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Escondido has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with six straight defeats, while Ramona will come in with five straight victories.

Last Tuesday, Escondido lost to San Pasqual at home by a 67-48 margin. The Cougars were down 48-26 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Meanwhile, Ramona earned a 60-53 win over Rancho Bernardo on Tuesday.

Ramona pushed their record up to 12-14 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.8 points over those games. As for Escondido, their loss dropped their record down to 14-10.

Escondido came up short against Ramona when the teams last played back in January, falling 66-58. Can Escondido avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
