Basketball Recap: Whitinsville Christian Starts Season with Loss at Home

Whitinsville Christian unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 48-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Assabet Valley RVT Aztecs on Tuesday. The Crusaders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Aztecs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February.

Whitinsville Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Micah Deters, who posted 13 points. Those 13 points gave Deters a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Rainbow, who earned ten points.

The victory made it two in a row for Assabet Valley RVT and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Whitinsville Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 42-31 loss against Uxbridge on the 20th. Assabet Valley RVT has also already played their next game, a 54-53 win against Blackstone Valley RVT on the 19th.
