Softball Recap: Lafayette Central Catholic Comes Up Short

Lafayette Central Catholic extended their losing streak to five on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 1-8 in the process. They came up short against the Rensselaer Central Bombers, falling 15-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Knights were not able to get on the board.

Lafayette Central Catholic saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Campbell Brown, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.

As for Rensselaer Central, they now have a winning record of 4-3. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by seven runs or more this season.

On Rensselaer Central's side, they got a massive performance out of Brooke Koebcke, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. That home run was Koebcke's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Rylie Moore, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lafayette Central Catholic will take on Andrean at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Fighting 59ers have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season. As for Rensselaer Central, they will square off against Twin Lakes at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
