After flying high against Baker last Saturday, Hansberry came back down to earth. The Hansberry Bengals took a 33-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Noble Street College Prep Golden Tigers. The Bengals' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Several Bengals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Miyay Jordan, who posted seven points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Jordan is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lillian Rushing, who scored nine points along with five boards and three steals.
Leading Noble Street College Prep to victory were Tiffany Gaona and Sarai Gonzalez. Gaona had eight points and ten rebounds, while Gonzalez earned eight points and four steals. Heidy Flores was another key player, putting up four points.
Hansberry's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Noble Street College Prep, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5.
