Softball Recap: Columbia Takes a Loss

Columbia made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Edwardsville, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Eagles fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 8-6 on Wednesday. The Eagles have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Columbia's loss dropped their record down to 20-5. As for Edwardsville, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbia will take on Salem at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Edwardsville, they will head out to face off against Belleville East at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Lancers will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
