Basketball Recap: Royal Palm Beach Comes Up Short

After flying high against Leonard last Wednesday, Royal Palm Beach came back down to earth. The Royal Palm Beach Wildcats were outmatched by the Cardinal Newman Crusaders and fell 60-24. The matchup marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Cardinal Newman's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Noelle Coyne, who went 6 for 11 on her way to 13 points in addition to eight rebounds and eight steals. That's the most steals Coyne has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Kent, who went 9 for 14 on her way to 22 points and three steals.

Royal Palm Beach now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Cardinal Newman, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Royal Palm Beach didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 51-17 defeat against Palm Beach Lakes on the 9th. As for Cardinal Newman, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 53-26 win against Oxbridge Academy on the 9th.
