Football Recap: North Fort Myers' Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Six

North Fort Myers had won five straight games and Giovanna Molloy did her part to make it six on Thursday. The North Fort Myers Red Knights took down the Cape Coral Seahawks 14-0 for which the team can thank Molloy, who rushed for 81 yards and one touchdown on only 11 carries, and also threw for 61 yards and one touchdown while completing 76.9% of her passes. She got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 56 yards.

North Fort Myers' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.0 points on average over those games. As for Cape Coral, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

North Fort Myers will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Mariner at 6:30 p.m. on April 2nd. After both having extra time off, Cape Coral and Gateway will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 6:30 p.m. on March 24th.
