Baseball Game Preview: Northfield Norsemen vs. Southwood Knights

Northfield is on a four-game streak of home losses, and Southwood a 13-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Wednesday. The Northfield Norsemen will face off against the Southwood Knights at 5:00 p.m. Northfield is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

On Monday, Northfield earned a 5-2 victory over Lewis Cass.

Branson Hayslett was excellent, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Baer, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Meanwhile, Southwood came up short against Maconaquah on Monday, falling 10-1.

Dalton Barney was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.

Southwood's loss dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Northfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-13 record this season.
