Football Game Preview: Jonathan Alder Pioneers vs. Bellefontaine Chieftains + How To Watch

The Jonathan Alder Pioneers will face off against the Bellefontaine Chieftains at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Jonathan Alder was handed a 38-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 35-33 victory over Kenton Ridge. The high-scoring effort was just what the Pioneers needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Cashton Wheeler was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 173 yards and four scores, and also picked up 30 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, Bellefontaine was able to grind out a solid win over Urbana on Friday, taking the game 23-16. The Chieftains haven't had any issues with the Hillclimbers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Jonathan Alder's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Bellefontaine, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Jonathan Alder was taken down by Bellefontaine 49-7 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Pioneers were down 35-7.
