The Evangelical Christian Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 11th straight defeat. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 28-27 to Harding Academy. Evangelical Christian has struggled against Harding Academy recently, as their game on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Harding Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gabi Ruvalcaba led the charge by scoring six points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Ruvalcaba has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella rose Austin, who scored eight points.
Evangelical Christian's defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Harding Academy, they now have a winning record of 13-12.
Evangelical Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Harding Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against First Assembly Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. First Assembly Christian will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Harding Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
