Softball Game Preview: Anthony Wayne Generals vs. Perrysburg Yellow Jackets

For the second straight game, Anthony Wayne will face off against Perrysburg. The Generals will be playing at home against the Yellow Jackets at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Anthony Wayne is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

On Friday, Anthony Wayne was able to grind out a solid win over Perrysburg, taking the game 4-1.

Piper Phillips spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Megan Sumner was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last four times she's played.

Anthony Wayne's victory bumped their record up to 20-2. As for Perrysburg, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-10.
