Volleyball Recap: Walsh Jesuit Comes Up Short

If Walsh Jesuit was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Roosevelt on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warriors took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jackson Polar Bears on Thursday. The Warriors have struggled against the Polar Bears recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

While Walsh Jesuit had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-19, 25-27, 25-19.

Ryan Lippert paced Walsh Jesuit's offense, picking up 24 kills. Lippert got some help from Matthew DeSciscio and his 45 assists. Ryan Houser controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Walsh Jesuit's defeat dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Jackson, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

Walsh Jesuit didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against St. Edward on the 30th. As for Jackson, they have also already played their next game, a 3-2 victory against Stow-Munroe Falls on the 29th.
