Baseball Game Preview: James River HomeSchool Eagles vs. Blue Ridge Jays

For the first time this season, James River HomeSchool will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out on the road to face off against the Blue Ridge Jays at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.

James River HomeSchool came up short against Fredericksburg V on Thursday, falling 18-6.

Meanwhile, Blue Ridge had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.2 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. They put the hurt on Faith Baptist with a sharp 14-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Jays, who have now won seven games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Blue Ridge let Alex Showalter and Josh Craig run wild. Showalter got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs, while Craig went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That's the most runs Showalter has posted since back in April of 2024. Micaiah Hill also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Blue Ridge lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
