Baseball Recap: Cyprus Takes a Loss

Cyprus and Skyline squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Cyprus had to settle for second. They took an 18-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (ten), the Pirates still had to take the loss.

BRODY DENSLEY made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of HUMBERTO NAVA, who went 3-for-5 with two RBI and one double.

Cyprus has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 22-7 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Skyline, their win bumped their record up to 14-17.

Cyprus does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Skyline, they will take on West Field at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Longhorns have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
