Baseball Recap: South Wake Sabres vs. New Life Camp Storm
South Wake had lost three straight at home, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 6-13 to make it four. They took a 14-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the New Life Camp Storm. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Storm this season, with their most recent loss being a 4-2 defeat on April 10th.
Jack Carlton made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Shope, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one run.
As for New Life Camp, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-4. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
On New Life Camp's side, Ethan Windley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 1.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run but no hits. Windley was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
