Bishop Stang has been on the road for three straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. They will host the Middleborough Sachems at 5:45 p.m. Middleborough took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Bishop Stang, who comes in off a win.
Last Monday, everything went Bishop Stang's way against Westport as Bishop Stang made off with a 3-0 win.
Bishop Stang never let Westport on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 26-24, 25-21.
Darian Dias was her usual excellent self, getting 26 digs and eight aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in the last nine games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Mlynek, who had seven kills, seven digs, three aces, and a block.
She wasn't the only good server: Bishop Stang was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 23 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in nine consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Middleborough was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They came up short against Rockland, falling 3-0.
Bishop Stang's victory bumped their record up to 6-9-1. As for Middleborough, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-15.
