Columbia Academy is a perfect 4-0 against Lewis County since May of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Bulldogs are taking a road trip to face off against the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. Columbia Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.
Columbia Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Battle Ground Academy with a sharp 9-0 victory. Considering the Bulldogs have won 12 matches by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Gunner Skelton made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, Wyatt Ayers was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Briar Helton was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Lewis County unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They came up short against Battle Ground Academy, falling 11-5.
Lewis County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Whitlow, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Another was Steele Moseley, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Columbia Academy pushed their record up to 17-3 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Lewis County, they now have a losing record of 11-12.
Everything went Columbia Academy's way against Lewis County when the teams last played back in March, as Columbia Academy made off with an 18-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
