Recap: Pearsall Mavericks vs. Santa Maria Cougars
The Pearsall Mavericks had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 66-55 victory over Santa Maria on Friday. The win was just what Pearsall needed coming off of a 66-46 loss in their prior matchup.
Xavier Rendon continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 32 points and 16 rebounds. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Pearsall's points. Marcus Woodard was another key contributor, going 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 0 assists.
Pearsall's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Santa Maria, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Pearsall's road trip will continue as they head out to face Roma at 1:00 p.m. on December 1st. Roma comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Santa Maria, they will take on Miller at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. Miller is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
