Basketball Recap: Nixon Comes Up Short

Nixon played a tough contest on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through an 84-56 loss at the hands of the Steele Knights. If the Mustangs were looking for revenge after losing 82-62 to the Knights when the teams met back in November of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Nixon lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Matthew Delapass, who posted eight points. Another player making a difference was Ari Guerra, who scored nine points.

Nixon's defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-5. As for Steele, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.

Looking ahead, Nixon will challenge Boyd Anderson at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Steele, they will welcome O'Connor at 7:00 p.m. on December 2. The Knights will be up against the Panthers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 51.86 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
