Football Game Preview: Purnell Swett Rams vs. Lumberton Pirates

The Purnell Swett Rams will head out to face off against the Lumberton Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Purnell Swett is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

Purnell Swett is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Gray's Creek on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Rams lost 43-20 to the Bears.

Despite their defeat, Purnell Swett saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Sean Locklear, who picked up 142 receiving yards and one TD, was perhaps the best of all. Aidyn Locklear was another key player, having thrown for 288 yards and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Lumberton came up short against Scotland on Friday, falling 48-24. The Pirates were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-0.

Purnell Swett's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Lumberton, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
