Baseball Recap: Enterprise Drops Season-High Score on Noxubee County

After low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Enterprise brought some dynamite into their most recent match. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Noxubee County Tigers a 22-0 shutout on Monday. The Bulldogs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Toby Thornhill made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in February of 2024.

In other batting news, Enterprise got a massive performance out of Garrett Neal, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Neal also put up three RBI, which were his first of the season. Brody Smith was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-2.

Enterprise hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.

With the victory, Enterprise broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-8. As for Noxubee County, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Enterprise will have a chance to go back-to-back against Noxubee County: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
