Volleyball Game Preview: Lehi Pioneers vs. Lone Peak Knights

The Lehi Pioneers will head out to challenge the Lone Peak Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Lehi is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Westlake, who was ranked third at the time (Lehi was ranked fifth). The Pioneers fell just short of the Thunder by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Pioneers have struggled against the Thunder recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Lehi took Westlake into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-19, 18-25, 21-25, 15-9.

Meanwhile, Lone Peak was able to grind out a solid win over Pleasant Grove on Thursday, taking the game 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.

The victory didn't come easy: Pleasant Grove scored at least 20 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-20, 20-25, 27-25.

Lone Peak's win bumped their record up to 19-5. As for Lehi, their loss dropped their record down to 13-4.

Lehi took their victory against Lone Peak when the teams last played on April 10th by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pioneers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
