Basketball Game Preview: Washington Academy Raiders vs. Presque Isle Wildcats

Washington Academy is 1-7 against Presque Isle since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Washington Academy Raiders will head out to take on the Presque Isle Wildcats at 3:00 p.m. Washington Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Presque Isle will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Washington Academy turned things around against Narraguagus on Monday. They blew past the Knights, posting a 53-22 win. The Raiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 29 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Presque Isle entered their matchup against John Bapst Memorial on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Presque Isle lost to John Bapst Memorial at home by a 58-43 margin.

Presque Isle's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-3. As for Washington Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.

Washington Academy and Presque Isle were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, but Washington Academy came up empty-handed after a 42-41 defeat. Can Washington Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
