Baseball Recap: Cheney Comes Up Short

Cheney was the 6-3 winner over University when they last played one another on Friday, but their luck changed this time around. The Blackhawks fell just short of the Titans by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday.

Carter Owens was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cheney saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Martin, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Martin is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

Cheney has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for University, they pushed their record up to 13-7 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

As of now, neither Cheney nor the Titans have any future games scheduled.
