Basketball Game Preview: Coolidge Colts vs. Roosevelt Roughriders

Two dominant guards in Quintin Cooper and Gabriel Hudgens are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Coolidge Colts will venture away from home to face off against the Roosevelt Roughriders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Coolidge's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six contests.

Coolidge is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another highly-ranked state team: Flint Hill, who was ranked seventh in their home state at the time (Coolidge was ranked sixth). Coolidge walked away with a 73-63 victory over Flint Hill on Friday.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Roosevelt beat Hillside 74-70 on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Roughriders.

Roosevelt has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.6 points per game. As for Coolidge, their win bumped their record up to 8-3.

Coolidge and Roosevelt were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in January, but Coolidge came up empty-handed after a 72-71 loss. Can Coolidge avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
