Baseball Game Preview: Vina Red Devils vs. Cherokee Indians

The Vina Red Devils will head out on the road to challenge the Cherokee Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 13 consecutive losses for Vina and five for Cherokee.

Vina lost 14-4 to Waterloo on Friday.

Meanwhile, Cherokee fell victim to Covenant Christian and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 10-0. The shutout was out of character for the Indians seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in February.

Vina's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Cherokee, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.

Vina skirted past Cherokee 14-12 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Devils since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
