Softball Recap: Normangee Drops Highest Score of Season Against Centerville

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Normangee). They blew past the Centerville Tigers 17-7 on Tuesday. The win was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Normangee got a massive performance out of Kynleigh Long, who went 4-for-5 with five RBI, three doubles, and one stolen base. The dominant performance gave Long a new career-high in hits. Gracin Shaffer was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one triple.

Normangee was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .545. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.

Normangee's record is now 7-10. As for Centerville, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Normangee Panthers face off against Leon Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Leon will need to watch out since Normangee has now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests. As for Centerville, they will challenge Grapeland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
