Basketball Recap: Spurger Skates Past Goodrich with Ease

Spurger won against Burkeville two weeks ago with 68 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Spurger Pirates blew past the Goodrich Hornets 68-23. The win was nothing new for the Pirates as they're now sitting on three straight.

Several Hornets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Eliseo Garzon, who posted six points. Another player making a difference was Sky Wrightson, who had seven points.

Spurger's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-5. As for Goodrich, they are on a 29-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-15.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Spurger will face off against Leggett at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Goodrich, they will head out on the road to take on Burkeville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
