Softball Recap: Benton Central Bison vs. Seeger Patriots        
        
		
            
 Sadly, Benton Central is still looking for their first win of the season after six  contests. They wound up on the wrong side of a  rough 20-7 walloping at the hands of the Seeger Patriots on Thursday. One positive for Benton Central, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
  Mariyah Rich made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 2-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as she's  now  stolen  at least one in the last three games she's  played.  Izzy Adams was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.
 Even though they lost, Benton Central  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. That's the fewest  strikeouts they've managed all season.
 On Seeger's side,  Aubrey Spear was a standout: she scored three  runs while going 3-for-5. Another player making a difference was  Keisha Inman, who  scored a  run while  getting on base  in all five of her plate appearances.
 Benton Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Seeger, their victory  ended  a  four-game drought on the road  dating back to last season and  puts them at 2-7.
 Benton Central will be playing at home against Rensselaer Central at 5:45  p.m.  on Friday. Benton Central has given up an average of 9.7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Seeger, they will head out on the road to  challenge  South Vermillion at 5:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. South Vermillion is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 10.1  runs per game  this season.
