Softball Recap: Ringgold Comes Up Short

After flying high against Lakeview on Thursday, Ringgold came back down to earth. The Redskins lost 17-6 to the Plain Dealing Lions on Tuesday. The Redskins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Lily Plunkett made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Nixie Bolyer also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.

Ringgold's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Plain Dealing, they pushed their record up to 11-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ringgold will square off against Haynesville at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Plain Dealing, they will face off against Southwood at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cowboys have averaged an impressive 8.7 runs per game this season.
