Baseball Game Preview: Conestoga Valley Buckskins vs. Bishop McDevitt Crusaders

The Conestoga Valley Buckskins will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Bishop McDevitt Crusaders at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Conestoga Valley is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games dating back to last season.

Conestoga Valley gave up the first runs last Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Northern Lebanon by a score of 4-1.

Conestoga Valley's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cordell Bair, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. The dominant performance gave Bair a new career-high in RBI. Another was Adam McDowell, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Meanwhile, Bishop McDevitt unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of Trinity on Tuesday.

Vince Leoni was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Leoni was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

In other batting news, Dylan DeMuro was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3.

Conestoga Valley pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Bishop McDevitt, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
