Basketball Game Preview: McLean County Cougars vs. Muhlenberg County Mustangs

McLean County is 2-8 against Muhlenberg County since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The McLean County Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Muhlenberg County Mustangs at 7:45 p.m.

It was a proper cat-fight when McLean County faced off against Daviess County on Tuesday. McLean County fell 63-51 to Daviess County.

Meanwhile, on TuesdayMuhlenberg County's undefeated season almost came to an end. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Hopkinsville 59-56. While the Mustangs didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-22), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Muhlenberg County's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.8 points per game. As for McLean County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

McLean County couldn't quite finish off Muhlenberg County when the teams last played back in January and fell 56-54. Can McLean County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
