Football Recap: Tri-Valley Starts Season with Win at Home

Tri-Valley gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 50-14 victory over the York Catholic Fighting Irish. The Bulldogs pushed the score to 44-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Fighting Irish cut but never quite recovered from.

Parker Hatter was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 103 yards and three TDs on only 14 carries. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Porter, who threw for 104 yards and one touchdown.

Despite the loss, York Catholic saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Michael Staub rushed for 31 yards and one score, and also threw for 97 yards and one TD.

Looking ahead, Tri-Valley will take on Marian Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give the Bulldogs their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for York Catholic, they will face off against Biglerville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
