Softball Recap: St. Joseph Academy Comes Up Short

St. Joseph Academy lost against Gilmour Academy back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Jaguars lost 13-3 to the Lancers. The Jaguars' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row.

St. Joseph Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sylvia Mittendorf, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

St. Joseph Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Gilmour Academy, the win keeps they at an undefeated 6-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Joseph Academy will take on Vermilion at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Jaguars are facing the Sailors at the right time seeing as the Sailors are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Gilmour Academy, they will square off against South at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lancers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rebels have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
