Basketball Recap: Lynchburg-Clay Gets the Win

Lynchburg-Clay hadn't done well against Eastern recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Mustangs came out on top in a nail-biter against the Warriors, sneaking past 45-42. This was payback for the Mustangs, who suffered a 54-35 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Addy Carraher was the offensive standout of the matchup as she posted ten points and four steals. Those four steals gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lily Ferguson, who earned ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.

The victory got Lynchburg-Clay back to even at 1-1. As for Eastern, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Coming up, Lynchburg-Clay will welcome McClain at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Eastern, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 44-38 win against Valley on the 26th.
