Baseball Recap: Sewickley Academy Falls to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart in First Game of Season

Sewickley Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Chargers on Tuesday, falling 10-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Sewickley Academy of the 6-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2019.

Sewickley Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Charlie Scally, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart's victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sewickley Academy will square off against Leechburg at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, they will be taking part in a tournament against Greensburg Central Catholic at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
