Softball Game Preview: Benton Central Bison vs. Twin Lakes Indians

For the second straight game, Benton Central will face off against Twin Lakes. The Bison will square off against the Indians at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Benton Central took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against Twin Lakes, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bison skirted past the Indians 11-9. Considering the Bison's hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

The team relied heavily on Madison Minniear, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Julianna Sibray was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Benton Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Benton Central's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-7. As for Twin Lakes, their loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-11.
