Basketball Recap: Cedar Creek Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Cedar Creek and Weiss squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Cedar Creek had to settle for second. They took a 51-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Weiss Wolves. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Wolves recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kenji Franklin, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds. Franklin has been hot for a while, having posted nine or more boards the last 12 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nomar Ruvalcaba, who went 5-for-11 en route to 12 points and five rebounds.

Cedar Creek's loss dropped their record down to 20-15. As for Weiss, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-18 record this season.

Cedar Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Weiss, they will square off against Fort Bend Kempner at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Fort Bend Kempner's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.
