Softball Recap: Three Straight Road Wins for West Mesquite

After only one run in their last match, West Mesquite made sure to put some runs up on the board against Adams on Tuesday. The Wranglers came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 12-7. The Wranglers haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Zoraida Barron and Julianna Guitierrez did most of the damage at the plate: Barron went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two doubles, while Guitierrez scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Those four RBI gave Barron a new career-high. Brianna Poroj was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

West Mesquite's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-9. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.7 runs over those games. As for Adams, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

West Mesquite will welcome Wilson at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Wranglers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Adams, they are taking a road trip to take on Spruce at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars are facing the Timberwolves at the right time seeing as the Timberwolves are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
