Football Recap: Maypearl Comes Up Short

Maypearl's last matchup with Grandview could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Friday. The Panthers were outmatched by the Zebras and fell 51-23. The Panthers have struggled against the Zebras recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Maypearl's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Grandview, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maypearl will square off against Mexia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will be up against the Black Cats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 43.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Grandview, they will face off against West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Zebras will need to watch out since the Trojans have now posted at least 31 points in their last five matchups.
