Softball Recap: Morton Ranch Takes a Loss

Morton Ranch extended their losing streak to 14 on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 5-19 in the process. They lost 20-0 to the Seven Lakes Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 back in March.

As for Seven Lakes, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-11. That looming 20-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

For Seven Lakes' part, Ryma Chakraborty looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Seven Lakes let Cielle Whittaker and Dulce Franco run wild. Whittaker went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one double, while Franco went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those two runs gave Whittaker a new career-high. Brylee Carter also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

As of now, neither Morton Ranch nor Seven Lakes have any future games scheduled.
